Patrick Dickson

The simple story that I know of Pat Dickson is that he grew up in Madison, Ohio and later went to and played football at John Carroll University. We became best of friends almost immediately, and someone who will always be until we meet again.

But those that knew him will have their own stories and relationship with him, because we all knew there was much more to him than any one person could quantify. I have always considered him one of my dearest friends, someone who was always there for me to support me but also to set me straight even when I did not feel I needed it. But many felt the same about Pat as I do; he had so much to give to so many.

My proudest moment with Pat was when we talked of family before one of our Amato Golf Outings; he said it was his proudest achievement to have such a wonderful family, being married to Jenny and to have such beautiful daughters, Emily and Sophie. That will always stick with me, seeing and hearing him talk about his family like that.

We lost Pat, March 1, 2018. At his service he again surprised me with his unselfish attitude, wishing to make everyone there feel better for being there and not to feel depressed. On top of that, his message to his daughters summarized the person he always was, “Surround yourselves with good people.” He was one of those “good people” in my life, but what a powerful message for all of us.

The goal of this page is to raise $50,000 to help support his wife and daughters during this very tough time. By doing this, we can be those “good people” for the Dickson’s and provide them the opportunities that Pat has always wished for his Wife and Daughters.

Dear friends ,
It’s been a difficult couple of years. An even more difficult couple of months which are a bit of a blur. What I do remember and feel is the warmth and Love from our friends, family and community.
Pat teased that his service would draw more folks than our wedding... think he was right. Again ... dammit!
We have always believed and taught our girls that surrounding yourself with true friends can get you through anything life dishes out.
We have the honor of being surrounded by kind and selfless people. Pat saw that kindness and it brought him peace.
This is once again demonstrated by this amazing and selfless gesture.
Thank you doesn’t feel like the right thing to say...
We Love You All seems more appropriate.
